DOMAINE DE POMMAYRAC forms the ideal take-off point for your discovery of the Auderegion. The domain is situated only 12 km. from the Cité of CARCASSONNE and lies on the first spurs of the Corbièresmassive. All of the important tourist attractions are located near by (Cathar castles, the abbeys,...).
We have a gîte (2 to 4 people), an inn with 4 rooms and a little restaurant (for halfboard or special occasions). The domain also embraces an organic farm, a leasing company for outdoorsports (cross-country cycling, canoe, kayak, canyoning) and a ridingcentre (horses and ponies).
In POMMAYRAC
valleys, vineyards and pinetrees alternate. Nature invites you to have long
walks. There are some magnificent vieuws overlooking the PYRENEES and the east
of the Corbièresmassive.
At
only 2 km. from the domain lies the village of VERZEILLE with its swimming pool
(reserved for inhabitants an "local tourists"). You can also pay a
visit to the villages of VILLEFLOURE and LADERN SUR LAUQUET. ST HILAIRE with its
beautiful cloister is located close by. For the ones who love " swimming in
the open air" there are the 2 rivers of the district (with several,
natural swimming places).
If
you don't feel like visiting tourist attractions, you can always rent a
cross-country bike or go horse-riding, have a walk, enroll yourself for
wildwatersports on the AUDE (canoe, kayak, riverjourneys, canyoning) or just
have a swim.
